Combining multiple models – Democracy Versus
نویسنده
چکیده
When wise people take critical decisions, they usually take into account the opinions from many experts. Now whether to give equal importance to each expert’s opinion or weigh them according to their expertise, their experience is another good logical problem to think on. The main focus of this paper is to closely compare the performance of equally weighted voting (democracy) schemes in Machine learning at different stages against the unequal-weighted voting (meritocracy). Intuitively as we can say that if two different algorithms or methods are expert in different arena of Machine learning then let us choose both for a particular dataset, but depending upon the properties that dataset possess, change the priority of those algorithms in learning. This is the basic concept of unweighted voting. This paper after giving the outline of both the weighted and un-weighted voting compares them on different parameter settings. Introduction

Defining the “E” in E-Democracy: a genre lens on IT artefacts
The field of e-Democracy has suffered from fuzzy conceptualizations about the actual role of ICT in the field. That is, the contribution of “e” in e-Democracy has been difficult to justify. To address the role of ICT in e-Democracy projects we contribute theoretically by combining knowledge on IT artefacts, genres and E-Democracy models to be able to explore ICT in its embedded surroundings. IT...

متن کاملThe Prisoner’s Dilemma as a Two-Level Game: An Experimental Investigation
This paper extends the literature on individual versus group decision-making by combining a strategic inter-group game with an intra-group voting mechanism. The intergroup game is a simple Prisoners’ Dilemma, while we consider two versions of an intragroup voting mechanism—a form of representative democracy and a majority vote. Our results suggest that players tend to be more cooperative in the...

متن کاملPolitical parties, electoral systems and democracy: A cross-national analysis
The number of political parties and the type of electoral system may impact the level of democratic functioning within a government. Models are used to explore whether the number of political parties increases a country’s democracy score on the POLITY IV measure of democracy, and whether countries with proportional representation electoral systems have higher democracy scores than those without...
